Overview

Timberlawn Elementary School

Timberlawn Elementary is one of 22 elementary schools in the Jackson Public School District. It serves scholars in grades pre-K-5. The school was built in 1969 and was once considered a part of the county school system. Timberlawn Elementary is located in South Jackson, Mississippi at the city limit line. The school is located in a rural area of Hinds County. There are a limited number of area churches, banks, and businesses located within the community.

The mission of Timberlawn Elementary School is to teach and learn with purpose, passion, and perseverance. We will achieve our mission by working together to ensure that every Timberlawn Bulldog excels academically, socially and emotionally.

Daily Schedule

Students may begin to arrive at 7:00 A.M. (Scholars should not be dropped off on campus prior to 7:00 a.m. due to safety and supervision issues.

7:00–7:30 a.m. – Breakfast will be served

7:30 a.m. – Scholars will enter classrooms

(Notice: Any scholar arriving after 7:30 a.m. will not be allowed to eat breakfast.  If you would like for your child to eat breakfast at school, he/she will need to be on campus by 7:20 a.m.) 

7:45 a.m. – Tardy Bell Rings

(Notice: Any scholar who arrives to school after 7:45 a.m. MUST BE SIGNED IN BY A PARENT IN THE OFFICE.

8:00 a.m.     ELA Instruction/Block Begins

 *To maintain a safe and orderly end-of-day dismissal, scholars can not be dismissed from 1:45 - 2:15 p.m.*  

2:15 p.m.– Car-riders, after school van/bus riders (including Boys and Girls Club, and ELS) and,  Exceptional Education scholars with bus transportation as a related service are also dismissed at this time.

2:19 p.m. – Pre-K and 1st Grade bus dismissal

2:23 p.m. – 2nd and 3rd Grade bus dismissal

2:27 p.m. – 4th and 5th Grade bus dismissal

PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR CHILD MUST BE PRESENT FOR 63% OF THE INSTRUCTIONAL DAY IN ORDER TO BE COUNTED PRESENT FOR THE DAY. 

ALL TRANSPORTATION CHANGES MUST BE MADE IN WRITING AND SUBMITTED BY 12:00 EACH DAY. NO EMAIL REQUEST WILL BE ACCEPTED. 

Office Hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
